Relinquish A Pet
The Steinbach Humane Society is here, and we have foster homes available to take in your pets in need of a new home. We are a Pro Life shelter working with the community to end our pet over population problem. The animals will not be kept in small cramped cages for a long period of time or “put down” unnecessarily, but instead be placed in foster homes where they will be loved and socialized until we can find a suitable forever home for them. Thank you for caring enough to give your pet a second chance at life.
Relinquish Fees are as follows:
- $30 each adult cat
- $10 each kitten
- $40 each adult dog
- $15 each puppy
- $15 each small caged mammal
Intake Status is as follows:
PRIORITY = orphaned babies & allergy cases
SECONDARY = non emergency relinquishes
In order for us to take in the animal faster, it helps if the animal’s vaccinations are up to date with a medical record. Otherwise we have to wait for a vet appointment before we can take in the animal. In the case of a found stray, we will take down the infomation so that we can help reunite the pet with the owner quicker, but the propor authority to contact is John Klassen at 326-3118. We also have an agreement that Mr. Klassen that he is to contact the SHS to take in adoptable dogs who are not claimed.
