At Capacity
February 27, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment
We are currently at capacity and can not take in anymore animals at this time. We do have a waiting list of animals who are waiting to come in, so you can still contact us with the animals who need to be re-homed. Remember that there is a relinquish fee which is $30 per adult cat, $5 per kitten, $40 per dog and $10 per puppy. This fee helps to feed and cover vet costs for the animals.

We just recieved an email alerting us to the danger of raisins and grapes in a dog’s diet. These fruits are toxic to dogs. First symptoms are vomitting, diarrhea and shaking. If you notice any of these reactions notify your veterinarian immediately. Left untreated, this condition can easily become fatel.

Become A Foster Family

We are in desperate need of foster homes for our animals. We will supply the food and other items you may need in order to care for one of our fur friends. We also cover all routine vet costs. We just need safe loving homes for these wonderful animals. We have found that fostering our animals has many benefits including socialization for the animals and continued training. It also prepared potential adopters who choose to foster for what life will be like with a forever fur family member. We have a lot of cats and dogs on our waiting list who are waiting to come into our program, but because of our lack of foster homes, they are forced to wait. By fostering you are not only helping us out, but you are literally saving the lives of many animals and doing your part to end our pet overpopulation problem in our area. So if you have aht time, love and space, Contact Us to come and join our team of heroes.

If you or your organization would like to organize a fund raiser to support the Steinbach Humane Society, that would be awesome and we would appreciate it so much. To show our appreciation, we will post your event on our site in order to promote it as well as posting your name or logo on our Supporters page. If there is anything we can do to promote your organization in return, please let us know and we will do our best. Our community is very important to us and we want to do what we can to help.
The Old Country Vet
February 9, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment
A lot of you have been wondering why we haven’t been accepting our regular number of animals. The reason is that our regular vet Dr. Millar from The Old Country Vet was away on a missions trip and when he got back, he was busy upgrading his surgical area. The word is that he will be reopening shortly. Besides being wonderful to talk to and having a great staff that we have become close to, Doctor Millar has given us the best price on our anamal vet appointments. So since we do not get that same deal at other vets, we could not afford to take in our normal number of animals.
Doctor Millar is back now though, and we are very excited and eager to get back to our normal intake numbers so that we can help save as many fur friends as possible. We thank you for your patienca and concern.
