The Steinbach Humane Society’s Mission is to work closely
with the public to end the pet over-population problem in
our area. They want to help as many animals as possible
educating and promoting humane treatment for all animals.
They work to place abandoned, stray and relinquished
animals into loving, forever homes.
The Steinbach Human Society also tries to reunite pets with
their families as quickly as possible. They are pro-life, which
means they will humanely euthanize an animal that is
suffering or in pain, only after all other means of care have
been exhausted. The Steinbach Human Society will NOT
euthanize healthy animals. They will spay or neuter all
animals plus give vaccinations. deworming, rabies vaccine,
vet check and tattoo.

Banquet Update

Thank you to all of you who came out to support us at our banquet fund raiser last night December 13th.  It went over really well and everyone had a great time.  A special thank you to our speaker Michael Zwaagstrawho moved a lot of people with his speach.  Also thank you to Ernie Wintoniw who rented us the Legion at an amazing price.  We also want to thank Greg & Michelle Neufeld who put together a beautiful slide show which we will be featuring on our home page in the very near future.   Thank you to Agri Mart and Pet Valu for sponsoring tables.  Our decorator Wilma Dueck did a wonderful job in creating a warm classy atmosphere.  We thank Pioneer Catering for the delicious meal, Ivy Funk for the linens and Cherry Hill Estates for donating all the round tables for the evening.

Rajah

Rajah is a beautiful neutered blue-eyed adult Siamese cross male cat. He is happy and friendly towards everyone. He likes dogs, cats, adults and children. He just loves to be loved. He was brought to us on one of our bitterly cold days after his former owner forced him to stay outside screaming due to cold and hunger. Now he is in foster care waiting for his forever family to find him. He has awesome adoption potential. Are you looking for the perfect feline companion?

Rajah is currently being treated for an infection in the area of his lungs.  As well he has some fluid build up  and is on heart medication. We will do our very best for Rajah, as he is very special to us.  We are hoping for a quick full recovery.  If you would like to help, feel free to make a donation to the Old Country Vet and ask them to put it on our bill.  That would be very helpful and so much appreciated, especially at this time as we help Rajah fight for his life.

Rajah passed away today after a good fight against his health issues.  Our sweet boy will be missed very much.

The new site of the Steinbach Humane Society.

The Steinbach Humane Society has found its building. Karen Pruden and Lisa Rogal are excited to announce they have found a place to rent along Bush Farm Road. Pruden says Kevin Pankratz is renting them space but she says now what they need is someone generous to pour a concrete floor for them so they can begin the rest of the renovations. The Steinbach Humane Society began operating in June of this year. Pruden says right now they’re very limited with their space as they rely heavily on foster homes. The goal is to move into the new shelter as soon as possible. The ladies agree the Steinbach Humane Society has come a long way in six months. A fundraising dinner will take place December 13th with proceeds helping pay the cost of the building as well as their day-to-day expenses. For more information visit www.steinbachhumanesociety.com.

Lucky

Lucky is a younger male Shnowzer who just wants to be loved. He gets along with everyone including cats, dogs and children. He is house trained and knows the commands “sit”, “stay”, “down” and “come”. He was rescued from death row, but kept outside. With his thin coat in our freezing temperatures, it seemed he was on death row again until he came to us. Now he is an indoor foster fur baby. He’s got a great temperament, but has just been deprived of the love and attention he deserves. He has great adoption potential. 

Luck has been adopted by a wonderful family who loves to travel with their fur babies, so Lucky will be spoiled and get to see the world.

Chi-Chi

Chi-Chi is a playful unique-looking little black and white female kitten needing a home. She is quiet and cuddly and enjoys playing with her foster siblings in her current foster home. She is living with Ben and Alley who are 2 of our older kittens looking for homes.

Chi Chi has been adopted and welcomed into her forever home.

Cinder

Cinder is a wonderful little black kitten who is currently living at Pet Valu here in Steinbach. He is your typical kitten - curious and playful. He lives with his littermate sister Jasmine.

Jasmine

Jasmine aka Jazz Cat is a young black and white kitten who just came into our care a little while ago. She has a sweet face and wonderful disposition. She is quiet and playful. She is currently living at Pet Valu here in Steinbach with her littermate brother Cinder.
