Butch

November 24, 2008 by admin · Leave a Comment

Butch is the newest fur friend at the SHS. He looks to be a shepard x boxer who is about 9 months old and is approximately the size of a border collie. He has some scrapes on his face, but other then that seems to be in good health. He is house trained and gets along with other dogs. He enjoys being inside with people, but also loves to run and play outside. Since he loves people so much, he doesn’t stray. He’s just a happy guy looking for a home.

Butch has been adopted by a wonderful family with children and room for him to stretch his legs.  He is a very happy boy!

Chico is a 4 year old female Chihuahua x terrier. She is primarily black with brindle legs. She is house trained and loves attention. She would make a wonderful companion for a single person or a couple without children, as she shows fear aggression toward children. She is a very sweet girl who gets along with other animals, though she does like to tease the cats if they let her. She is house trained and prefers women to men. she just needs some TLC from her forever family.

Chico has become a member of a wonderful home where  she will get lots of love and attention.

Nyssa

Nyssa is an 8 weeks old medium haired female Tortishell who was found dirty, starving, and abandoned by her mother. Today she is a strong sweet little girl who is enjoying life. She is quiet and purrs a lot for the most part, but she also loves to play, pouncing on her toys. She jumps straight up in the air and lands on her toy. She gets along well with other animals, though she backs off when big dogs are barking. Can you blame her though? She is also litter trained. She loves attention but doesn’t beg for it. This little one would make a wonderful companion. So contact us to make an appointment to meet Nyssa today.Nyssa was adopted and is as happy and spoiled as she could ever want to be.  Congrats Nyssa!

Lisa’s First Photoshop Project

This is my first attempt at a Photoshop project.  It’s simple, but tedious.  I was terrified to touch the program until my husband Mike showed me a few steps.  Now I’m lovin’ it.  Just overlook the goofs and oopses :o)

  • Do not feed your dog chicken bones - chicken bones splinter and dogs can easily choke on them or have them poke holes while traveling through their digestive tract.

CANINE CLOTHING FOR SALE!!!

We now have dog clothes available for sale through the Steinbach Humane Society. It’s a great way to keep your pooch warm in the latest fashions while helping out other animals in need.

We cater to the small to medium breeds, as they are usually the ones with the thinnest coats. There are breeds who actually NEED to be kept warm in the colder months. Some of these breeds include the Chihuahua, Miniature Pincher, Jack Russel Terrier, Pug and Boston Terrier, just to name a few.

In our northern climate, a good pair of warm shoes is essential. We pride ourselves of offering these to you at a great price. The shoes we carry seldom get pulled off by the dogs, and are warm. In addition, they are equipped with rubber bottoms in order to keep the dog from slipping on the ice.

  • Never feed your cat milk - most cats are lactose intolerant and will most likely become ill should they ingest more milk then they can handle.
