Sobeys BBQ Fundraiser a Success!

Our BBQ fundraiser that was held August 13th and 14th at the Steinbach Clearspring mall was a success!

The Steinbach Humane Society raised a grand total of $260.00 from sales and donations. Thank you so much to those who came out to support us. A special thank you to those volunteers who braved the weather to come out and lend a hand. Thank you to Charlene Kotowicz, Pauline Christiuk, Tracy Rosolowski, Lisa Rogal and Cheryl Main! We really appreciate your time and effort. We’d like to thank Steinbach Sobeys as well for partnering with us on this fundraiser.

Pets In The Park

UPDATE - A huge thank you to all our sponsors, volunteers and supporters who helped make our first annual “Paws On The Path/Pets In The Park” event a giant success!  We raised $3558.9!!!  Thank you so much for the part that each one of you played in making this our biggest and more successful fundraiser yet! What Is A Lotto Tree?

Since people have heard that we are having a lotto tree at our fund raiser this weekend, we are getting the same question asked over and over.  To clear up any remaining confusion, Lauren our Creative Consultant has made up a poster to explain the concept.  There will be lotto tickets attached to a decorative tree.  You buy raffle tickets to win the chance to take home all the lotto tickets.  Think of how much you could win!!!

Latasia January Fundraiser

Love Animals?  Love Jewelry?  Want to get free jewelry while helping out our animals in need?  Host a Latasia party in January, receive all your regular hostess freebies PLUS 10% of the sales will be donated to the Steinbach Humane Society!!  Dates are booking fast.

I’m sure some of you have already been thinking about your New Year’s resolution.
If not, maybe you could take a moment and think about this.  Here’s a great inexpensive way to help out our furry friends and receive a tax receipt at the end of the year for saving lives.

Simply put, we are looking for 2010 people

who are willing to commit to a monthly

automatically withdrawn donation of $10.

It’s a small commitment

that will help save so many precous lives,

as that would mean $20,100

we could count on coming in each month.

We could buy a piece of land, build a facility,

pay off our vet bill, offer free spays/neuters,

and so much more!

That would just be an absolute dream-come-true!

And will help this cause so much.

SHS Fund Raiser & Update

This Saturday July 18th we will be having a bake sale fund raiser at the Steinbach Clearspring Center.  We will have a lot of delicous goodies to choose from as well as an assortment of small breed dog clothes and a Mary Kay $2 raffle.  So come out and support your local Steinbach Humane Society.  If you are interested in donating some baked goods to the fund raiser, contact Lisa at lisa@steinbachhumanesociety.com for more information.  Thank you for your time and we look forward to seeing you all there.

UPDATE: Well, we did pretty well at our mall fund raiser.  We made $122. A big thank you to our fosters Cheryl and Charlene who sat at the booth with Lisa.  As well, thank you to our bakers Les & Laura for the brownies, Sacha for the jellies, muffins and chocolate/peanut butter treats and Melissa for the the adorable dog cookies.  We appreciate it all so much!  We also want to thank the wonderful people who took the time to stop and talk and support our organization.  We couldn’t do this without you.

A 7 Year Old’s Gift From The Heart

On Friday July 3rd, this sweet girl presented us with a $75 donation.  How does a 7 year old make $75 you ask.  Well, for her 7th birthday she asked her guests to bring money for the SHS instead of a birthday gift for her.  What an amazing and selfless act!  The ironic thing is that June marked our one year anniversary of operating the Steinbach Humane Society.  Her generosity litterally brought tears to our eyes.  So we met at The Old Country Vet to show her exactly where her money was going.  We awarded her with a plaque, and she got to meet Dr. David Millar, who is the veterinarian who worked many hours to save the life of Lulu, one of our special case kittens who time and time again had to be rushed to the vet for emergancy attention.  It was that same kitten who this wonderful girl and her family adopted.  Lulu is now healthy, spoiled and loved by this amazing family, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.  Thank you again and God bless you.  You will always be special to us. 

Food and Fashion Fund Raiser

We’re having a bake sale/small breed canine clothing fund raiser this Saturday June 27th at the Steinbach Clearspring Center.  There will be all sorts of goodies and fashions to choose from.  As well, we will have one of our adoptable fur friends Joey the border collie available to meet for a few hours in the morning.  So, come out and support your local Steinbach Humane Society and get a delicous treat while you’re there.

UPDATE:  We had 3 bakers and lots of really great treats including cookies, muffins, cupcakes and jam.  Thank you to Celesta, Les & Laura and Sacha for the wonderful treats.  We made $114 and every penny counts.  Thank you everyone - the bakers and customers.  As well, we want to thank  our kitty foster mom and Fund Raiser Coordinator Cheryl for volunteering to sit with us at the booth.  It was much appreciated and very helpful.

July Bake Sale:

We are having another Bake sale & Mary Kay Raffle on July 18th at Steinbach Clearspring Centre. We will be there from 9:00am - 3:00pm, so come out and support your local Steinbach Humane Society, get a delicous treat and enter our Mary Kay Draw!
