Desi

We lost our precious Desi this morning. The vet suspected that Desi had had at least one stroke, and hes health had deteriorated severely. He said that putting him to sleep was the kindest thing we could do.
Desi had been adopted by his foster mom and our board member Cheryl. The two were very close and she was the only one whom Desi really trusted.
DJ

Last week we rescued 2 orphaned 2 week old kittens. There was a male and a female. Founder/President Karen Pruden has been dedicating her time and energy to keeping these tiny little ones alive and healthy. Unfortunately DJ the little boy has passed away. He was so small and underdeveloped. His suckling relex was so poor as well. We will miss him very much.
His sister is doing quite well though and our hopes are high for her survival.
Captain

Captain is one of a litter of four orphaned kittens who’s mom was hit by a car. These little sweeties have had to grow up in a hurry, and are now just waiting for their forever homes where they can just be kittens. We don’t know too much about these little ones, butwe’ll keep updating the posts as we get to know them better.
Licorice

Licorice is a little female kitten who was found on the Biovail doorstep on Sep 30, shivering, scared and hungry. One of the security guards had spotted him on the yard the night before, so this poor little guy had quite the adventure. He is about 6 weeks old now, he loves people and he is awesome with children. Right now he lives in a foster home with Oranji. He is a little smaller than normal but he is a big sweetheart. He is hoping to find his forever home soon. Could it be you he’s been waiting for? Rajah

Rajah is a beautiful neutered blue-eyed adult Siamese cross male cat. He is happy and friendly towards everyone. He likes dogs, cats, adults and children. He just loves to be loved. He was brought to us on one of our bitterly cold days after his former owner forced him to stay outside screaming due to cold and hunger. Now he is in foster care waiting for his forever family to find him. He has awesome adoption potential. Are you looking for the perfect feline companion?
Rajah is currently being treated for an infection in the area of his lungs. As well he has some fluid build up and is on heart medication. We will do our very best for Rajah, as he is very special to us. We are hoping for a quick full recovery. If you would like to help, feel free to make a donation to the Old Country Vet and ask them to put it on our bill. That would be very helpful and so much appreciated, especially at this time as we help Rajah fight for his life.
Rajah passed away today after a good fight against his health issues. Our sweet boy will be missed very much.
Sugar

September 18, 2008 - Sugar was laid to rest late last night. She was a quiet, sweet, young mother cat who came to us as a stray with a litter of 4 kittens. The kittens were only a few weeks old when they arrived. Sugar was a wonderful mother and did her best to care for her babies. Unfortunately, the combination of her worms and nursing kittens, she passed away of shock, exhaustion and having the worms and kittens rob her of vital nutrients. She will be missed. Please spay or neuter your pets.

Hokey-Pokey is an adorable indoor male rabbit. He is a sandy color with gray ears. He is about 8 years old and is the brother to Grandma. Hokey-Pokey is a very tame rabbit as he is used to being handled by children. He is very sociable with a sweet personality. He enjoys the company of his kennelmate Daisy-May the guinea pig.
